A crucial day for training, legs, 3,4 and 5 of the Bob Graham, taking in the roughest ground and the biggest climbs.
Fantastic weather was a real bonus, only two weeks ago it was like the Arctic, today in T Shirts we were sweating on the summits.
Ascending Yewbarrow - Scafell behind
A 6am start at Dunmail Raise gave us 14 hours of daylight to complete the distance which included 15,000 feet of ascent. Pacing, drinking and nutrition would be very important.
The views from the high Lakeland Fells were superb, and we took in 25 summits the last as the mountains cast shadows in the valleys far beneath us.
Running into early evening on the Buttermere Fells
The Street lights were just switching on as we arrived in Keswick. An ambitious days training had gone well, with a few things learnt about nutrition and a lot of fitness gained.
